GETAWAY

I'm not one to travel a lot. I know what you're thinking - Alisha you're 23 why are you not travelling? Well sometimes life gets in the way and travelling becomes a second priority, but I am deciding to take a different approach to that choice. Even if I visit a different country for just a weekend imma do just that. I get such mixed feelings when I visit a new country - it's a really hard feeling to explain but it makes me feel escalated, almost in a dream like state. To experience a different culture and see new things, is something I think everyone should do at some point in their life. Take yourself away from what you're used to and see what the world has to offer.

I visited the beautiful city of Malaga recently with a good friend. Although it was a short trip, words cannot describe how amazing it was. We laughed, we cried, had deep chats and reflected on life, but most importantly we were merry throughout pretty much all of it! No other way to be, right?

I know that the end of the year can create quite a hectic headspace for some, and I can say that it was definitely the case for me. It's a time to re-evaluate what you want from the year ahead, which in itself can feel like pressure but I'm so glad I started the year off in a beautiful city with an amazing friend. To simply chill and relax felt great. As someone who finds it quite hard to relax, it was quite a shock at first, but being away and being surrounded by beauty allowed me to adjust very quickly.

The trip allowed me to have a clear thinking space, and one key thing which I took away from the trip was to really try and keep positive. There is so much beauty in the world and I hope you can see that through the pictures. I won't ramble on anymore but one thing I will always remember is being in the botanical gardens. It was such a peaceful and pure environment and whenever I get stifled or become negative, I will remember the ever so peaceful state I was in at the botanical garden. It may sound silly to some but it's enough to put a smile on my face.

Have you got any trips planned in 2017?
